About us
DABS is a not-for-profit organisation that was established over 20 years ago.
In its early days, DABS was a supplier of books and publications for those concerned with abuse. Today, the DABS book list is still maintained however sales are no longer commercially viable for us.
DABS continues to produce a National Resource Directory of approximately 550 charities, organisations and groups throughout the UK and Ireland that work in various ways to support survivors of abuse and sexual violence. The Directory has evolved over the years and the new electronic format has improved its accessibility.
Working in collaboration with DABS is the Pathfinder service that was introduced almost 15 years ago. It offers a signposting service providing free support and information regarding issues to do with childhood abuse, incest and sexual violence.
In 2010, DABS introduced in-house counselling to complement the other services it provides.
